Mulligan’s Eagle - FAQ

Demonstration Mode Serial Number

Q.  What’s the demo serial number required when using Mulligan’s Eagle in demonstration mode?

A.  Enter “DEMO” if required.  The software will operate for 30 days in demonstration mode.  After that, you need an enabling serial number or buy Mulligan’s Eagle from the Mac App Store.

Mac App Store Demonstration Mode

Q.  Can I use software from the Mac App Store in demo mode?

A.   No – Apple does not yet provide try-before-you-buy use of products listed on the Mac App Store, including Mulligan’s Eagle.  However, if you download a copy for demo purposes from this web site and later decide to purchase from Apple, you won’t lose any data already entered when your Mac App Store purchase is installed.

Purchasing “Installed” Error

Q.  The Mac App Store says Eagle is “installed” and won’t let me purchase.  What can I do?

A.  Apple is trying to make sure you don’t buy the same application twice.  If you have Eagle installed for demonstration use, just drag the Eagle icon from your Applications folder to the Trash, empty the trash and restart your Mac.  You’ll then be able to purchase Mulligan’s Eagle from the Mac App Store and keep any settings and data you’ve already entered.

After your purchase, updates to your software will be handled by the App Store application on your Mac.

Why Not Windows?

Q.  Why has Mulligan’s Eagle been developed for the Mac?  Why not for Windows?

A.  Well… because a Mac is a better machine - more reliable, faster, prettier, easier to use and just more fun.  There are things Mulligan’s Eagle can do with macOS that just can’t be done with that other system.  Plus (like you care!) developing software for the Mac is faster, cleaner, better and also more fun.  If you’re a Windows user, we sympathize.

P.S.  Consider making your next computer a Mac.  You can still run Windows applications on it whenever there’s a need.

Running Mulligan’s Eagle on My Mac

Q.  Does Mulligan’s Eagle run on Macs using Apple Silicon?

A.  Yes.  Version 2.9 and later will operate on an Apple Silicon Mac, using Rosetta 2 where required.  Since version 3.0.4, Eagle has been delivered as a “universal” application -  running native on 64-bit Intel or all Apple Silicon Macs.

Q.  Does Mulligan’s Eagle run on the MacBook Pro and other Intel-based Macs?

Sending Club Info to Mulligan Software

Q.  How can I send data about one or more of my golf clubs to Mulligan Software for inclusion in their archive?

A.  Start by making sure you have provided complete information about all the tees, for men and women, for all the courses at the golf club.  From the Finder, make a new folder on your desktop titled “Clubs”.  Then with the Club window open and front-most, choose Export from the File menu to make a Club file in that new folder.  Repeat for all the Clubs you want to send.  Finally click to select the folder, then choose Compress from the File menu to make a compressed version (a .zip file) of the whole folder.  Send that file as an email attachment to Mulligan Software Technical Support.  We’ll do our best to get your data online.

If you want to send us a printed scorecard, scan or photograph both sides and be sure the Course and Slope Ratings for all the tees are shown.  Email those images to us.  If your course supports “hybrid” tees for which there are ratings, send us that information too.
