So, you've installed TeeChart on your iPad and it looks like this…
Find the scorecard for your home, or favorite, course. Yes, that’s it… find the actual printed scorecard.
(We’ll assume in this tutorial that you’re a member at Bushwood Country Club. If not, you’ll use the data from your scorecard.)
Tap Settings at the upper left of the Courses list to provide some information about your handicap…
…or tap Edit at the upper right to edit information about courses.
The Settings screen allows you to indicate how your handicap is determined (the system used to calculate it).
Tap the Handicap Authority item to choose the method used by golf clubs or associations in your country or location.
Tap the My Handicap item to type the numeric value of your computed handicap (Handicap Index®, Handicap Factor™, Exact Handicap, etc.). TeeChart will highlight playing handicap data associated with this “official” value.
Tap Done at the top right to return to the Courses list.
To change information about an existing course, tap its name.
To change the order of a course in the list, drag it up or down by its reordering control ().
To make a course a candidate for deletion, tap its delete editing control ().
Or, to add a new course, tap the Add (+) button at the left of the toolbar. Then begin editing information about it…
Touch the Name item and use the keyboard to change My Golf Course to the name of your course.
Tap Next on the keyboard to enter a Location for the golf course. A location is optional.
Tap Next to enter Par for your course. Par is required for some handicapping systems.
When you’re happy with your changes, tap Done to save the new course or changes.
Now that you’ve added your course, tap its name in the Courses list to continue entering information about the tees you play…
A tee has already been inserted in the list of tees for your course.
Tap Edit to edit (or add) information about the tees…
Just like editing courses, when you are editing tees you can move them around, delete them or add new ones.
First, however, we want to edit information about the Blue Tees. Do this by tapping the name of the tee in the list…
Tap the Color item to select the appropriate color for the tee - usually the color of its tee markers.
Tap and change the Name of the tee if it has a special name.
From your course’s printed scorecard, the pro shop or the USGA’s Course Rating and Slope Database™, find the Slope Rating from this tee. It should be a number between 55 and 155. Tap the Slope Rating item and enter the correct number. Unrated tees are usually given a Slope Rating of 113.
Find the Course Rating for this tee. It will usually be a number (to a tenth) around par. Enter the correct number.
Finally, if you have entered information for ladies playing this tee, use the switch to indicate it’s a Ladies’ Tee.
Tap Done to permanently save your new tee or changes.
Tap Edit again to add another tee or to modify information about a tee on your course.
You can add as many tees as you like, and you may have two tees with the same name and same color - if a tee is rated for play by both men and women.
Once you’ve provided the information about your course’s tees, you’re done. Just tap the name of a tee to show the complete Course Handicap Table (Slope Chart) for that tee.
The Course Handicap Table shows the full range of official handicaps and the associated playing handicap (strokes) for men or women playing from this tee. And, it shows un-official (“local” or “club”) handicaps beyond the official limits of the handicap system used.
To see a table for a different tee, or a tee on another course, tap Tees to back up.
