Opening a New Scorecard
Although you may usually want a scorecard for a particular player, Golf
Personal allows you to display a blank scorecard with no players on it one
which you can add players to later, if you wish.
You can open a blank scorecard by choosing New Scorecard from
the Golf menu or entering S from your keyboard.
 To open a new, empty
scorecard window even faster, you can click on the New Scorecard button
on the toolbar.

A Blank Scorecard Window
The new blank scorecard on your desktop is ready to have one or more
players added to it, but first, let's look in more detail at all the parts
of the scorecard.

The Club Selector
The club selector includes all of the Club document files that Golf Personal
knows about. Click the selector to choose the club where you played.

The Course Selector
Once you've selected the right club, the course selector will change
to reflect the courses available at that club, and you can choose the course
you played.

The Tee Selectors
There is a tee selector popup for each side you played. You set the front
side tee selector to the tees you played and the back side tee selector
will automatically be set to match it. You can set the back side tee selector
independently.

The Nine Selectors
Usually, you don't need to adjust the front or back nine selectors except
when the course has more than two nines, you played the nines in an unusual
order (like backwards) or you played only nine holes. For
a nine-hole round, select "none" from the back nine selector and
enter your scores on the front side of the scorecard.
When you select the club, course, nines and
tees on a scorecard, they apply to the rounds of all the players on the
scorecard. If you want to record rounds for players who played together,
but from different tees, you'll need a scorecard for each.

The Date and Time Entry
Golf Personal needs to know the date on which a round of golf was played
to analyze your play correctly. If you play more than one round in a day,
it needs to know the order of the rounds, which you can indicate by providing
the time you teed off.
When you open a new scorecard, the date is automatically set to today's
date. You can adjust the date forward or backward by clicking in the top
or bottom of the little arrows to the right of the date. You can also type
a date in the date field. For a shortcut, you can just key the day (like
"4") and tab and the date will be set to that day (i.e.: the 4th)
in the current month.
You need to enter a time only if you are recording more than one
round played on the same date. Just type in the time you teed off (like
"8:30 AM") and don't forget the "AM" or "PM"
part.

Yardages, Pars and Handicaps
When you've selected the club, course, nines and tees, the scorecard
is updated to show the appropriate yardages, pars and hole handicaps for
your round. The hole numbers are shaded with the color of the tees you've
selected.

Rating and Slope
The course rating and the Slope rating are also shown for the course
and the tees you have selected. For certain handicapping methods, these
are the values used to compute a "Course Handicap" for each player
on this scorecard. |
